See the Washington Post editorial, "A nuclear treaty is about to vanish. Its demise should teach a lesson." The U.S.-Russian Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty's expiration is ironically timed -- Friday, August 2nd is just days prior to the August 6th and 9th Hiroshima and Nagasaki commemorations, 74 years since the atomic bombing of Japan by the United States.
