An effort by other commissioners to oust Jaczko has been simmering for months. Jaczko denied the latest accusations at a press conference. Reid is not alone in seeing an ulterior motive to forcing Jaczko out - his concerns with reactor safety. The chairman was also the lone opponent in a 4-1vote of giving the green light to two new reactors at Vogtle, GA. Jaczko formerly worked on Reid's staff.
