Nuclear Power

Nuclear power cannot address climate change effectively or in time. Reactors have long, unpredictable construction times are expensive - at least $12 billion or higher per reactor. Furthermore, reactors are sitting-duck targets vulnerable to attack and routinely release - as well as leak - radioactivity. There is so solution to the problem of radioactive waste.

Anti-nuclear drum beat continues against Vermont Yankee

Today, a rally entitled "We Are Not Going Away Until VT Yankee is Shut Down and Safely Decommissioned With a Greenfield" is being held at the Vermont State Capitol in Montpelier, Vermont. As described by event organizer Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Alliance: 

WE ARE NOT GOING AWAY!

The Vermont legislature gets it, the PSB [Public Service Board] gets it and we get it:

Entergy is a rogue corporation manipulating Vermont's democratic process.

Last but not least, there will be a QUAKER MEETING AND NVCD [NON-VIOLENT CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE] at VT YANKEE, Sunday, Sept. 23, at Vermont Yankee in Vernon, VT. The Burlington Friends Meeting is planning a meeting for worship on Sept. 23 in front of Vermont Yankee. Those who are willing to get arrested will bring the meeting on the grounds of Vermont Yankee.
