Vermont blocks federal relicensing of Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant

In a 26 to 4 vote in the Vermont  Senate, the state legislative body overwhelming decided on February 24, 2010 that a twenty-year license extension of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant is not in the best interest of "Green Mountain State."
