Low dose radiation panel: Please register to attend, comment

The National Academies is hosting another public meeting tomorrow, August 26, 11 AM - 5:45 PM ET (public comments 5:30 - 5:45 PM), to examine how to move forward on low dose radiation research. Please register. This study is sponsored by the Department of Energy, which has previously funded such research, despite past official decisions that limited its human exposure research. The committee is still provisional, so no action has been taken to remove a conflicted committee member, as requested by several groups. Research on low dose radiation impacts indicates damage to cells that were never directly hit by radiation, and evidence that radiation may be destabilizing our generational health. Regulations do not yet specifically account for these phenomena. More
