A brazen boondoggle of a bailout for a bankrupt business

Those are the words of John Finnigan, lead counsel for the Environmental Defense Fund, testinfying in opposition to House Bill 6 (HB6) in the Ohio state legislature, as reported by Midwest Energy News in an article entitled "Ohio nuclear subisidy bill designed to undermine winds and solar, experts say."

HB6 would gouge Ohio ratepayers to the tune of more than $300 million per year, with no sunset date. Around half the funds would go to prop up economically failed, dangerously age-degraded atomic reactors -- Davis-Besse and Perry, both on the Lake Erie shore.
