FERMI UNIT 2 – PETITION PURSUANT TO 10 CFR § 2.206 SEEKING DEMANDS FOR INFORMATION (EXPEDITED RELIEF REQUESTED)

Emergency Enforcement Petition, linked here, submitted to Margaret Doane, Executive Director for Operations, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, by Terry Lodge, legal counsel for petitioners Beyond Nuclear and Don't Waste Michigan.

Retired nuclear engineer David Lochbaum serves as a technical advisor to the petitioners.

It regards the Fermi 2 atomic reactor's compromised pressure suppression containment system, due to torus debris. This increases the risk of failure of the pressure suppression chamber, which could lead to reactor core meltdown.

See the petitioners' press release.
